The short version
As of September 2026, this site does not participate in any affiliate programme and earns no commission from any link. Product and retailer links here are plain reference links that take you to the manufacturer's or retailer's website. Nothing on the site is paywalled, sponsored or paid for by a brand.
What happens if that changes
Research takes time. Reading official documentation, tracking compatibility changes and keeping checklists up to date is the work behind every guide. If we join affiliate programmes in the future (for example Amazon Associates, or networks such as Impact and ShareASale) to fund that work, we will:
- Update this page before the first affiliate link goes live, and list the programmes we have joined
- Mark affiliate links clearly at the point where they appear
- Keep the same rule for every link: a commission may be earned at no extra cost to you, and it never changes the recommendation
What a commission will never buy
These rules apply to any future affiliate relationship, exactly as they apply to the plain links we publish today:
- A positive mention or a higher placement in a guide
- Coverage of a product presented as tested when it was not
- Editorial review of an article by a brand before publication
How our recommendations actually work
Recommendations come from the decision criteria printed in each guide and comparison. Where a product fails a criterion — a missing feature, a hub requirement, a worse privacy default — we say so, regardless of whether the product is sold anywhere we link to.
